Hey Barbara,

Thanks--I didn't know that. I did read a long non-fiction book a while back, 'Team of Rivals', about the Lincoln presidency. In it the author tells of Lincolns love of poetry, and provided a few examples.

Did you guys know that a number of presidents wrote poetry? In my collection I already had one by Washington and one by Lincoln. Tonight I added one by Jefferson and one by John Quincy Adams. Others who wrote were Tyler, Grant, Carter and Obama. Harding wrote dirty poems to his mistress. I believe there were a couple more who wrote some, too, but I can't remember who they were. I did not listen to the audio of Carter's poem but read at least one by most of the others. It seems that everyone was a rhymer except Obama — unless Carter was not. That was a fascinating evening spent tonight. Barbara Hammel
