Hey Jackie,

I do remember Donna, and miss her on this list. She not only critiqued work here, but she critiqued my second novel for me, and her comments were immensely helpful.

I do believe it's important for people to pursue their plan A, or else we wouldn't have the musicians and artists and writers that we have today. I commend those with the passion and drive to never give up. But that's not me. I'd never live in my car while waiting to get a break in the movies, or eat raman noodles every day for years while hoping to get my break. I'm just not cut of that cloth. And I know only about 5% of all writers live soley on the earnings from their writing, which means most of us have a plan B, while still pursuing plan A. And that works for me.

Take care,

Chris

Chris,
Thank you for reading this even so late in the thread.
Do you remember Donna Hill? She was a most active and inspiring member who constantly encouraged all the young writers as well as all of us.
She has had to change her plan A and then her plan B because of the health of her husband, and then herself.
I truly hope all remember her service to all of us. She did write a book besides all of the time she devoted, as you do, to critiquing others work.

Hey Jackie,

Although I didn't respond at the time, I agree with you 100%. Of course I would never want to crap on anyone's dreams, and they absolutely should be pursued. But, as a former boy scout, I believe in always being prepared--which means having a plan B and a C, if needed.

Peace,

Chris
