Hello Lynda and all,
Today I am working on a writing workshop exercise, deep character sketch. I
am working on the person's body language and movement, sound of his voice
and my observations.

I would encourage folks to try out a writing workshop, it is challenging and
fun.
Best,
Annie C.

Hello NFB Writers,

I wonder what you are doing today and what the scene is like outside your
windows.

I hope your week ahead is filled with lots of good writing time and new
expectations and achievements for your writing life.

I'd love to hear about your projects and what you have going on at this time
of year when we are slowly shifting from Winter into the beginning of
Springtime.

It's a time for new beginnings, I think. I feel excited about the shift -
the pivot.

April is national poetry month - so I will be posting a poem each day on one
of my blogs.

I admire the writers who can write a poem a day during April, but this would
not be a reasonable goal for me - I am a slow slow slow writer.

I'd get frustrated at trying to crank out a poem a day - and I'd fail at it
miserably. But, I can post a poem a day, and that will be my way of
celebrating this most wonderful month ahead for poets and readers.

Sunday Snow - Yes, Snow, here in western PA today!

I guess it is a perfect ending for the Month of March.

But then, in April, I'll have to be busy working in the flower beds I
created last year.

So, I am enjoying this quiet, cold day to work inside on details for my next
book.

I just published my update on my Blog's companion page on FaceBook. It's
called, "Walking by Inner Vision."

This is my social media presence for my writing activities.

I've not updated that FB page for a few weeks because I've been so busy
working on the next book - getting it ready for the publication process that
will begin soon. This will be my 3rd book published and I am so excited
about it and it feels like I could just bounce up into the top of my
Norway Maple tree that is outside my window.

Update on _Star Signs: New and Selected Poems_ a pre-publication tweaking.

I am working diligently on my "Acknowledgments" and the "Table of Contents"
pages - getting them edited and tweaked in anticipation of the start date
for the editors to begin working on my next book. For a book of poetry the
Acknowledgments should be a listing of "First Publishers" for each of the
poems that have been published. This makes me so mindful of keeping good
records on publications of each of my writings for it is necessary when you
have to do your Acknowledgments page. Good record-keeping is essential for
this part of writing a book of poetry.

I will print my FIRST-PUBLISHED poem in my new book.

"Even in Arcadia," the poem, was published by The Daily Athenian, WVU, when
I was in residence at West Virginia University, and working on my MFA in
Painting. I was also writing a lot - tons of writing - and getting work
published consistently during those years from 1989 to 1991.

This is my ROOTS: My BEGINNING as writer.

My first published poem was a response to an art work by Nicolas Poussin, a
Baroque painter.

My inspiration came from his painting, "Et in Arcadia Ego," from the 1600s.
Greek Mythology , Nature, Art, Music, Dance, history, and literature- each
has been an abiding interest and inspiration to me over the years of my
creative activities in fine art and writing. It is good to stop and think
about our roots, and how we came to love the themes we work with and how we
developed as mature writers.
