Vegas,
Thank you for the closure. Wise decision, I think.

Subject: [Stylist] Gothic writing contest decision

Hi everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read the entry that I thought I might want
to write for my school's Gothic writing contest.
I have ultimately decided not to take part in the contest, for three
reasons:
First, I really don't feel I have it in me to write something truly Gothic.
Chris, your story is what I think falls much more under Gothic. Many people
like that thrill of a ghost story, but I really don't, so to create this
would be difficult.
The second reason is that last year only one person submitted to the
contest, and I talked to him yesterday during my English fraternity meeting.
He said that although he was the only one who submitted anything, he didn't
win anything. That seems kind of silly to me, although the scholarship is
$3500 so possibly they might have felt that it wasn't good enough to warrant
that amount.
The third reason is that I spoke to my teacher, who is a primary judge for
the contest, and asked her, even if I didn't win, could I still get
feedback? She said no to that.
Thank you again for your insights.
Vejas
