Shelley and all, if you will be so good as to forward this,

I wanted you all to know how much I regret not having the ability to join your conversations. My hearing has continued to deteriorate and a cochlear implant is being considered. With no inner ear in the other side, and unable to feel Braille, I still can use JAWS, but no phone with any clarity.

So I imagine your voices, your projects, your achievements and the inspiration you all provide through your emails.

My project is my African book, “Lizard in the Bean sauce,” a memoir of five years in Uganda from 1967 to 1972. I have had the first edit done cutting 700 pages down to 500 and now have to respond to everything and cut at least another 100. Poetry has fallen by the wayside.

I hope you will all take the time to describe your projects via mail.

Barbara, your poem sounds fascinating. Lynda, you continue to amaze.

My regards to you all.

Jacqueline Williams

Clarity is just questioning having eaten its fill.

Good afternoon everyone,

The fall season is pretending to approach in our area. Perhaps it is pretending to or has approached in yours. It is time for the penultimate Writers' Division of 2019. Yes, that's right. We will meet only once more this year after this Sunday night's call. I thought we would make this call a general update on all fronts: personal writing projects, books you're reading or find inspiring. Do you have a new idea for a poem or a story? Are you working on something you'd like to share? I know I just released my third full length novel and I have several ideas for novels coming up. I also read a book I can't stop thinking about, but as of yet I have no plans to write a story inspired from that book. But, never say never, I suppose. So what is inspiring you lately? Let us know.

Our call will take place on Sunday September 22 at 8:00 Pm eastern, 7:00 PM central, 6:00 PM mountain and 5:00 PM Pacific time. To join our call, please dial (605)313-5637. Our access code is 330803 followed by the pound sign. Our call will last one hour.

See you on the phone! Keep dreaming!
