Shawn you are so spot-on- I cannot believe that error is there - and to
think it passed all of the editorial staff along the way.

Thank you! I will have to go look at my copy of the poem to see if it is
wrong there, too. It made me wonder if it was wrong in my book, Star
Signs: New and Selected Poems, too. But it is fine, there, I did a quick
check on that.

Here is another thing that recently came to me. As I am revising and
expanding my text for my first published book Concerti: Psalms for the
Pilgrimage, there is a long, long poem in it called, "Notes from an
Exhibition at the Rupertinum." Now, that book has been out for over 17
years - and can you believe that there is a mistake in the spelling of a
name in that poem that nobody, including me, ever saw until I found it last
week! The name is the artist, The name should be Gerhard Marck, but in my
book it is Gerhard March. They are both German words but sound very
different. I would not have noticed it but I wanted to check on his
birthdate and death date so I could put the drawing into the proper
historical context. That is when I saw the mistake - after 17 years. It is
strange how our eyes deceive us when we are reading - we can just skim over
something quickly without actually seeing it. I wrote that book 6 years
before I lost sight - so I have no excuse.

Linda

Quite good. I do have one question.

You be3gin the ninth (I believe) stanza with "In the sunshine if her back
yard" Should the "if" be replaced by "in"?

Thanks for the good read.

Shawn

Greetings to you all on a lovely late summer day.

Today, I am particularly grateful for the small things in life - the little
things that surround us, and the little things we treasure. I think life is
made up of very tiny little things - little treasures.

I was looking up some poetry for a friend - and I remembered this poem that
I wrote around 2017.

We were talking about collecting memories, small objects, the space that is
found in Japanese art and poetry, and how we think about showing what is not
visible in our writing and artwork. My friend is a scientist, poet, and
photographer. I thought about his poem, and I wanted to share it with you
today.

What sort of things inspire you? I'd love to know what you think.

In this link is my poem, "To the Curator of Small Things," the text, and a
recording of the poem as well.

Enjoy this wonderful weekend. Lynda
