[Stylist] Advice on how to critique a poem

Poetry can have a visual structure intended to provide a layer. Obviously,
if you can't see it, it won't have much of an impact. Very similar to art.
If you understand shape and depth, such as someone who used to be able to
see or who was taught with 3-dimensional form, visual mediums can be
explained to you, but it's still a perspective of a perspective. I love
visual structures for art forms, but I require they be described to me now.
I'm still able to shape it in my head since I used to be able to see. The
meat of poetry is in word choice, metaphor/imagery and line structure, but
the visual effect can also carry a lot of weight. It really depends on the
poet and style of poem. Poetry is by no means my area of expertise though,
smile.
