Barbara
Congratulations on your poetry success. This always feels good.
I hadn't realized that the Magnets and Ladders results were out having not received the customary Email (yes, I put some of my poetry in as well). Anyway, excellent job! I'm looking forward to seeing your work.
Shawn

Greetings on this Autumnal Weekend,
I love to hear about friends in NFB Writer's Division getting their writings published and sharing their poetry with others.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Barbara Hammel - who received 2nd Place in Poetry in the Magnets & Ladders magazine's fall /winter issue.
Barbara's poem is stunning - and well-deserved of this honor.
I'd like to see Barbara's winning poem posted here for us to enjoy. How about it, Barbara?
Here is another opportunity for those of you who write Nature Poetry.
Editor, Charles Portolano, welcomes nature poetry submissions for The Weekly Avocet.
One BONUS is that he will publish previously published poems. That is rare - so if you have a great nature-themed poem that was already in Magnets & Ladders, Slate & Style, or another periodical, you can send it to Charles. You just might get it published again.
Even if you don't have a nature poem, it would benefit us all to read the guidelines here, because Charles gives some very good information on what an editor appreciates when we send in our work as a submission.
Below: The Guidelines for entering your Nature Poetry to The Weekly Avocet.
Please read the guidelines before submitting
Only one poem, per poet, per season.
Please send your submission to angeldec24 at hotmail.com<mailto:angeldec24 at hotmail.com>
Please put (early or late) Fall/your last name in the subject line.
Please be kind and address your submission to me, Charles.
(Just so you know: I do not read work from a poet who doesn't take the time
to address their submission to the editor, who they want to read their work.)
Please do not just send a poem, please write a few lines of hello.
Please do not have all caps in the title of your poem.
Please no more than 45+ lines per poem.
Please no religious references.
Please use single spaced lines.
Please remember, we welcome previously published poems.
Please put your name, City/State, and email address under your poem. No Zip codes.
Please send your poem in both the body of an email and an attachment.
Good Luck to you and I hope to see your work published. Lynda
