1021. MY A TO Z VACATION A trip throughthe U.S. I'll take with no planned-out agenda, Before I venture forth I'll explore my Iowa suburb. Crossing the Mississippi, I'll wander up to Fond du Lac, Down, around the lake, through Michigan, I'll meander to Cleveland, Easing my way along the route to clam chowder in Cambridge, From There it's to the Jersey shore and a Jets game in Wyckoff. Greensboro brings me to an N.C. seat of higher learning. Heading down along the coast, I rest up in Miami Beach. I catch a plane to bayou country, and shrimp, in Biloxi, Jet over to Brownsville and take time to purchase a "reloj". Kentucky calls me back for the Creation Museum's ark, Lake Of The Ozarks lures me to spend some time with rod and reel. My Hawkeyes impel me to a game at Kinnick Stadium. North Dakota's beautiful International Peace Garden Offers the beauty of a friendship, since nineteen thirty-two. Pocatello's history makes it a "must-see" on my map. Questing to Alaska, I go whaling in an umiaq. Returning to the lower 48, I trek Mount Rainier. Sand and sun and sounding surf draw me to Hawaii's islands. Tours are nice; but, a soft, sandy beach by the ocean is best, Ukulele music plays, and I taste poi, at a luau. Vegas offers slots and tables, shows by pros, ones by improv. Western Colorado's mountains speak of beauty, dressed in snow. Xeric landscape passes by as I wend my way to Phoenix, Yucca types I learned about at an Albuquerque nursery. Zipping over to Frisco Bay, my last stop's at Alcatraz. September 21, 2019
