Meaning, it uses creative techniques like scene and description, imagery/metaphor, etc. Memoir often is not told in a linear fashion, but it can be linear too. It often uses a personal story or stories to explore a bigger truth. You also don’t have to “call someone out” in order to write memoir. You can write reflections about the world around you, seeking a universal truth that doesn’t have to be negative about other people. You also don’t need a dramatic story.
