Sure but I will warn you I only have the older models. Yours is a plus and has different firmware and thus different functionality. I won’t be able to do anything till next week my daughter leaves on Monday night.

Hello Ken:

My Graphiti is here! Any chance you’d be willing to do a one-on-one with me regarding it? We could record the session and share it with everyone if that’s of interest too? Please let me know if you have any availability.

My best,

Chad

Yes that is the one I was trying to think of. I have always hated the nem of it.

There is an "optacon alternative" from a German developer called the videoTIM, with a website here:

http://abtim.de/home__e_/the_videotim/the_videotim.html

It works with a hand-held camera and has an array of 16x16 pins with a uniform spacing of 2.5mm. The display is based upon piezo actuators which allows fast refreshing - 24 frames (all 256 pins) per second.

It is built to order, similar to the situation with the Graphiti, and was priced at 9,500EU when introduced in 2020. However, I'm not aware of anyone in the US having experience with this particular display.

If there is real interest, I could go back into a database that has an accumulated 100+ worldwide projects tackling the deceptively difficult challenge of developing a low cost alternative to the ubiquitous piezo bimorph actuator.

Best,

Keith
