I'm about to get a loan of an Orbit Graphiti to trial for a couple of weeks. I'm interested in technical documentation on image formats, data transfers and the like. For what it's worth I'll be attaching the machine to a linux box. Any pointers welcome. cheers Peter -- Peter Rayner (he/him), Honorary Professorial Fellow, University of Melbourne mobile +61 402 752 379 zoom id 4431343191, join at mail-to: peter.julien.rayner at gmail.com google scholar: I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and pay my respect to their Elders, past and present I am sending this email when convenient for me, please only respond when convenient for you From jason at jasonjgw.net Wed Feb 4 12:54:54 2026 From: jason at jasonjgw.net (Jason J.G. The documentation should come with the Graphiti. If not, your only option is probably to contact Orbit Research. As I recall, there's a serial protocol accessible via the USB interface for which it's relatively easy to write code to transfer graphics files or manipulate the display. You may want to ask for access to this as well, which will hopefully be available since they announced the plan to release it almost a month ago. It seems likely that some people may have already had access to this or a similar SDK earlier, but their release spoke of a more general release and clearer license terms. -- Seeing Hands Phone: +1 612-219-6271 On 2/4/2026 07:19, Ken Perry via Tactile-Talk wrote: > All the documents are in word and pdf format and they come with theGraphiti. Next problem is the device isn't finishing boot-up. It's vibrating as described in the manual and emitting a long beep but the message "booting. Please wait..." stays on the display and the only key I can get it to respond to is the power key. Anyone seen this and has advice? thanks in advance Peter -- Peter Rayner (he/him), Honorary Professorial Fellow, University of Melbourne mobile +61 402 752 379 zoom id 4431343191, join at mail-to: peter.julien.rayner at gmail.com google scholar: I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and pay my respect to their Elders, past and present I am sending this email when convenient for me, please only respond when convenient for you From kperry at blinksoft.com Mon Feb 16 11:24:44 2026 From: kperry at blinksoft.com (kperry at blinksoft.com) Date: Mon, 16 Feb 2026 06:24:44 -0500 Subject: [Tactile-Talk] orbit graphiti not completing boot sequence In-Reply-To: <27026.41509.699094.873545@gargle.gargle.HOWL> References: <27026.41509.699094.873545@gargle.gargle.HOWL> Message-ID: <008a01dc9f36$da03ba40$8e0b2ec0$@blinksoft.com> First make sure it is charged. If that continues after letting it charge for a while. Then Read the update procedures and re-update it you should have the files needed to do that an d the documents should help. If you still have trouble call Orbit and they will walk you through it. -----Original Message----- From: Tactile-Talk On Behalf Of Peter Rayner via Tactile-Talk Sent: Sunday, February 15, 2026 11:51 PM To: tactile-talk at nfbnet.org Cc: peter.julien.rayner at gmail.com Subject: [Tactile-Talk] orbit graphiti not completing boot sequence Thanks for all the feedback a few days ago. the Graphiti arrived and I did indeed find much documentation on the SD card.
