It has been a long time since I shared something here on TAGS, and I am happy to finally come back with a completed artwork. About two years ago, while I was at Kite Beach in Dubai, I collected some sand and seashells. At the time, there was no clear plan. It was simply one of those things we do as artists, collecting materials that speak to us and trusting they will find their purpose someday. After sitting with me for quite some time, those same materials eventually became part of this piece. Using aluminium foil, paper, white glue, colours, a recycled flower bouquet base, and the sand and shells from Kite Beach, I created this tactile 3D model titled The Last Shelter. The artwork represents a small tree holding a nest within its branches, exploring the idea of protection, fragility, and having a place to belong. This is also my first completed artwork after a long break from art, and the process reminded me how meaningful it is to return to creating with my hands. I have attached images of the artwork.
