As I read through your description I could imagine the opening of doors and clock movement and all the other tactile options that respond by being able to be moved and I wondered it this work and some of the other pieces you have mentioned here in earlier submissions might be entered into the call for art that can be touched at the Tulsa Community College "Please Touch The Art" show. The deadline for receiving images of art submissions is Monday, March 2, 2020. This exhibition is looking for art that engages all five senses and your work certainly fits what they are looking for. If your work is accepted, the mailing challenge would have to be met but I bet your work might very well be "packaged" in a safe manner to protect the art piece and with the worldwide mailing opportunities available today, I think your work could be sent safely and reasonably quickly. They are just looking initially for three images of the art work so the challenge of how to mail it could be met following the news of acceptance. There is also a $150.00 honorarium for an accepted work so that could help with any mailing costs. I had two works accepted last year and plan to submit several for this year. Hi all,<br>
Here's another tactile painting I did yesterday...it's called the<br>
living room. I did not concentrate much on the theme this time as my<br>
motive was to include a variety of tactile elements in it. Here's it's<br>
description: It is an indoor scene with a green color wall and cream<br>
color carpet in the foreground. The carpet is made with foam paper so<br>
that it can be differentiated from the wall. There is a cabinet to the<br>
left. It has two doors that can be opened. It contains four books<br>
that can be touched and one of them can be opened page by page. Over<br>
the cabinet, there is a frame with a tactile modern art, a wine bottle<br>
and glasses and a bronze colored candle stand with a candle on it.<br>
There?s a teak colored grandfather clock hanging on the wall towards<br>
the left side. The hands in it are tactile... the minute hand is on 5,<br>
the hour hand is on 10 and the seconds hand is on 15. A light brown<br>
Labrador(puppy) is sleeping in a brown colored basket wich is on the<br>
carpet. It is resting its head on his paws which are on the rim of<br>
the basket. His body is half covered with a white sheet. Just beside<br>
him, there?s a standing lamp; the stand has a metallic color where as<br>
the lampshade is yellowish. All of them are 3D, so they can be touched<br>
and explored. It would be nice to know what you all think of it.<br>
