Subject: National Federation of the Blind of Iowa leadership update and
organizational changes

Greetings Fellow Federationists:

It was a great 2018 convention and I hope you are carrying the energy and
enthusiasm of that weekend into Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday
season. As we move into a new year filled with great opportunities for the
National Federation of the Blind of Iowa, there are some leadership changes
that you, our members, should be aware of.

As a result of an investigation related to Section III of the Code of
Conduct of the National Federation of the Blind, Jerad Nylin has voluntarily
resigned as President of the National Federation of the Blind of Iowa
effective November 17, 2018. In my capacity as your elected First
Vice-President, I, Scott Van Gorp, have assumed the office of President as
of that date. Upon the advice of our national president, Mark Riccobono, the
office of First Vice-President shall remain vacant until our next state
convention in 2019.

I want to assure everyone that, even though the presidency of our great
organization has changed hands, our goals and dreams are as alive as ever.
It is my belief that our movement is strong and our affiliate will continue
to help blind people live the lives we all want.

I along with our board of directors thank Mr. Nylin for his service as
President over the last two years. It is our hope that he will continue to
find ways to advocate for the blind of Iowa when and where it is appropriate
for him to do so.

President Riccobono has assured me and the board of directors that we will
have the full support of the national organization during this transition,
and we will have whatever resources we need at our disposal. I look forward
to working with our national leaders to continue the work we have been doing
to enrich the lives of blind Iowans and of the nation.

In closing, I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we
begin this new chapter in our affiliate's history. If there are any
questions, please feel free to reach out to me at the information listed
below.

With love, hope, and determination, we will turn our dreams into reality.

Let's go build the National Federation of the Blind of Iowa, and the
National Federation of the Blind.

Cordially:
