Hello NFB of Iowa!

Thanks Michael for copying me.

If any of you encounter the problems listed below, or any other issue, which prevents you from voting privately and independently, I strongly urge you to complete the ADA complaint form on the US Department of Justice website ADA.gov. You can access the complaint form at https://www.ada.gov/complaint/. You will first need to select "My complaint does not involve Employment, Housing, or Airlines" and click the submit button. This will take you to the correct form. For issue, select "Denial of service," then describe your experience in the following text box. Please feel free to contact me at the phone number below if you need help with completing the form. If you complete and submit a complaint form, please let me know so I can alert the lawyers at DOJ that a form has been submitted. Thank you very much!

Lou Ann

Subject: Polk County Voting Day And Voting Issues for the Blind

Ladies and gentlemen: As you know, this is a run-off voting day to decide who will be our next mayor and city council people.

Roger Erpelding and I keep hearing that some of you have had problems when going to your polling places, such as the polling workers not knowing about the machine we use to vote, the poll workers not aware that everyone-including sighted people-can use these machines, and worst of all, the poll worker not knowing they have to enter an unlock code in the machine so we can vote.

As you vote today, I would like to hear from any of you who have experienced any kind of voting issues as Roger and I, with the knowledge of our President, plan to meet with first the County Auditor and then the Secretary of State's office. For instance, did you know that one person had to wait an unbelievable 45 minutes before they could vote in the last election? And that was due to a machine problem. Totally unacceptable.

You can reach me at either m.barber817 at gmail.com<mailto:m.barber817 at gmail.com> or at (515)284-1569. Please do so as we want to right these wrongs.

Thanks very much.

Roger and Michael
