Subject: [Tall-Corn] 2022 Washington Seminar updates

Good Afternoon Federation Family:

I have a number of updates regarding the 2022 Washington Seminar that will
need immediate attention. First the dates are February 7-10, 2022. The Great
Gathering In will take place at 4PM central time on the 7th, and there will
be meetings on the 8th and 9th after our legislative meetings. The Great
Gathering In and the evening meetings Tuesday and Wednesday will be hybrid.
That brings me to my second item.

The Washington Seminar for 2022 is going to look very different, There are a
limited number of spots for people to be there in person due to logistics
and security concerns, and the rest of the delegation will be virtual. Based
on the allotments issued to states, Iowa is only able to send two people to
Washington this time. If you are interested in attending in person, please
let me know by email or phone no later than January 1, 2022. I was going to
make it the 15th, but we're on a tight deadline for room reservations an I
need to get the information to folks who are going. The reservation deadline
is January 7. We will be contacting congressional offices to see who is
interested in doing in-person meetings to maximize our time there. This
means we will have the in-person delegation, but we will also have a virtual
team assisting with the other meetings. If you are interested in being a
part of that team and perhaps coordinating it, please also reach out to me
as soon as possible so that I can see what our representation will look
like. The virtual aspect should allow for folks from all 4 congressional
districts to participate. Not sure which of our senator meetings will be in
person, but we'll be working on that too. The virtual team will be just as
important if not more so since not all of our meetings will likely be in
person.

The national organization will be setting up trainings soon for our
legislative issues, and there will be much more information published in the
coming weeks as the time gets closer. The 4 legislative issues are the
Access Technology Affordability Act, the Medical Device Nonvisual
Accessibility Act, the Twenty-First Century Website and Application
Accessibility Act, and the Transformation to Competitive Integrated
Employment Act. Fact sheets are due to come out the week of January 10.

I know I've thrown a lot in here, so if there are any questions, please feel
free to reach out. Remember, January 1 is the deadline to express interest
in going to Washington in person, but space is very limited. Let's go build
the Federation and make this Washington Seminar the best it can be!
