[Tall-Corn] Town Hall November 1

Good Evening Federation Family:

In response to the Medicaid thread that's been going on this list, below is
the information we've received regarding the upcoming town hall tomorrow,
November 1, at 4PM. Since I am unsure I'll make it at the top of the meeting
due to work, I have asked Cindy Ray to take the point on this as the NFBI
contact to speak if we are given the opportunity. In the meantime, please
feel free to register to attend so that we can show our support for this
initiative. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

 

Thanks for your email and call.  Wade Hemmelrick had made contact with us
#UpgradeMedicaid, on Facebook and invited us to join your discussion thread.
We are actively trying to build a cross disability movement.  In comments to
IOWA DHS as they are combining with public health and asking for
suggestions, we emphatically said that all communication should be
accessible to all (ASL, Braille, captioned, audio version etc)

 

For the town hall. our emphasis is that the state needs to invest in HCBS to
keep folks in their homes.   Low caregiver pay/ caregiver shortage, out
dated inequitable waivers, institutional bias, waitlists are main points but
also communications. 

 

We don't have a lot of time in this town hall, each speaker will have 3-4
minutes, but we would love to have a representative from your community
speak.  What can we do to support you?
