[Tall-Corn] State convention updates

Good evening Federation Family:

I have a few convention updates to share this evening. First, I am very
excited to announce that Tracy Soforenko has been chosen as the national
representative to the 2021 convention of the National Federation of the
Blind of Iowa. Tracy comes to us from the state of Virginia where he proudly
serves as president of the Virginia affiliate, and he is one of the newest
members of the National Federation of the Blind Board of Directors. I spoke
with him late last week and I'm confident he will bring energy and
enthusiasm to our convention and can't wait to see what he has in store for
us!

The online registration form is still being worked on, and we will provide
updates as soon as it is available. Thank you to those who have registered
by mail so far! As a reminder, if you are planning to register by mail,
please try to get those postmarked by September 15 if possible so that we
have time to receive and process them! I am working on final agenda details
and hope to have that out to everyone later this week as soon as a couple of
final details are worked out.

If you are sending in door prizes, please email or call Chelsea Van Gorp to
let her know what you are donating so that we can get an updated list. As a
reminder, her email is

I am still working on finalizing committees. If you are interested in
serving on either the nominating or resolutions committees, please let me
know as soon as possible so that I can finish those appointments. To those
who have reached out to me already, I will be in contact soon. As for when
resolutions are due, I am adjusting the date. Please have resolutions
submitted in final form no later than September 25, 2021. Until I've named
the committee chair, please send them to me at

and I'll make sure they get where they need to go in the meantime.

I know that's a lot of information, so if there are any questions, please
