Well, here is a partial answer to your question. The Senate Switchboard 515-281-3371 is the number that we have for any member of the Senate. I don’t seem to have the switchboard number for the House where I can find it but this one can be used to leave messages or contact any Senator. Thanks.

Hello Bob,

Thank you for all the information. I was talking with an elder member from our chapter today about the matter, and she would really like to make a phone call to express her views and support our issue. Would you please provide me with some phone numbers that she can call? That’s the only way she would like to participate with this. She lives in Iowa city. Thank you very much for all your assistance in advance.

Peace, Intesar

Greetings, In case you haven’t heard it the Iowa Senate State Government Committee has voted the reorganization bill out by a vote of 12 to 6. Some of the members of the committee expressed concerns about some of it but didn’t change it. If you have any contacts with any State Senator, please contact them and let them know how much these changes will negatively impact the blind of Iowa.

In the House so far there has been no vote. We have been concentrating on the subcommittee of the State Government Committee but now contacting the rest of the State Government Committee is certainly in order. Here again, contact your Representative even if they are not on the committee and make your feelings known.

We have done a good job so far and we are going to need to keep the pressure on in both houses. We can still win but it is not going to be easy. Ask your friends, relatives and anyone that will listen to help out.

I do want to thank the number of you who have written emails and sent copies of your email and the responses to me either on either of our lists or to me directly. If you haven’t sent these to me yet I strongly encourage you to do so. With this information we know better who in either house of the legislature is likely to support us.

Keep up the good work. We can still win if we work together.

Bob
