Mary, Thanks for trying. Everyone, this is certainly a sad day for the blind of Iowa. I want to thank all of you for your efforts on behalf of the blind of Iowa in trying to get Section XIII removed from this bill so that the programs for the blind in this state could continue to thrive as we have known them to do for over the past fifty years. This is the new reality that we must face but we are going to need more so now than ever to pay attention and not let more serious consequences occur. Yes, we have friends in the Iowa Legislature but if we are to win we are going to need to get more for the battles ahead.

 

It is even more essential now that this has occurred for us to pull together and minimize our losses. We can only do this with a united front and working together.
