Greetings Fellow Federationists,

Indeed it is with a heavy heart that I write these few words. At the time of the loss of a true Federationist, and a very good friend, words are terribly inadequate. What can you say?

Here are a few of my thoughts. I have known Teresa since the early nineties when she and Loren joined our chapter in Waterloo. From that time on one or both of them were officers in that chapter until a ways into the twenty-first century. Also during that time Teresa served on the door prize committee for state conventions and who can forget the year she asked a business in Waterloo to donate some door prizes and they gave us several cases of single serve containers of pudding. If memory serves me correctly that every door prize drawn contained at least one four pack of pudding.

Yes, Teresa kept busy. She went to Washington Seminar on different occasions and she has attended several National and State conventions.

During years that she was care giver for Loren she also saw to the marriages of both of their children, and the births of their five grandchildren. She also has been leading the home schooling of those grandchildren. She did get involved with the At Large Chapter and served on its Board. Since Loren’s death she has also become involved with the Des Moines Chapter and this year has been leading the fundraising committee. She promised no pudding.

I could go on about a number of other fond memories of Teresa but now we must say farewell to a good friend. We will all miss her a great deal and the loss to us and to her family is truly inmeasureable.

Bob Ray

Hello members, I write this with a heavy heart. About 2 weeks ago, the chair person of the fund raising committee Teresa Wakefield was admitted to the hospital. She went in with fatigue, and high blood pressure. Over the next few days she declined rapidly. She got pneumonia, and had to go on a ventilator. Her kidneys shut down, and she was put on dialysis. sometime during all this they discovered she had a hart attack. She is still on the ventilator, but is breathing over it. She is still having her ups and downs, and is going to be in the hospital for quite a while. Last I new she was critical but stable. That is the long and short of it leaving out some because there is to much to tell.

Please all of you keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
