I have one of me with Art Staed that he sent me. Would that be OK?

I forgot to mention one of the most important things to think about. Do you
have any photos, or can you get one, of you, or another Federationist, with
an Iowa Legislator or any other public official. Taking that one step
further, how about a picture with any community leader like a President of a
Lions Club or other organization.

All of these would be wonderful additions to the collection.

Bob

Nice job, Mary. I have thought about this post for the past couple of days
and I have a few suggestions of things that each chapter could consider
among any ideas they could come up with on their own. Let's take it by
chapter.

At Large. The At Large Chapter.

Kim teaching a student.

Jim Enderton working with machinery on their small farm.

Julie preaching.

Roger working in his garden.

Laura performing her job.

Southeast Chapter.

Richard doing a gig.

Jerry working on a bike.

Bitrus teaching a class.

Old Cap Chapter.

Darrel working with one of his clients.

Donna on the job.

Jonathan working with the support group.

Siouxland Chapter.

Tom and Monica entertaining at their home.

Karen doing her accounting job.

Another member cooking at home.

DM Chapter.

Nicholas W. working with a company on the phone in his job.

Barbara working with children.

Bob or Cindy tending to items on the smoker.

Cindy being ordained.

Bob or LeRoy doing something with ham radio.

Terry Hall getting his diploma.

No, this is not an extensive list or inclusive. It is only meant as a small
sampling to get you thinking about it. This project has so many
possibilities that it hard to imagine.

Please, think about what you can easily do, maybe have a friend snap a
picture with their phone and send it in. This project has the potential of
shaping a large part of the success of the NFBI during the next several
years.

Let's go build the Federation.

Hello, Iowa Affiliate!

Thanks to Scott and the Board, last night I was approved to
resurrect the Affiliate's brochure, which was started, but not finished. We
discussed several features and we know where we want to go with it. We plan
to use it for fundraising, advocacy, and public education.

I am requesting three to five recent photographs from each
Chapter. Please send them to me at mmcatitude at gmail.com
<mailto:mmcatitude at gmail.com> . I'd like to have them all by August, if
possible, so that by State Convention, I can have the ones I want selected
and have a prototype of the brochure to present and discuss at State
Convention.

As I stated, I want photos from within this year. I want
Chapter activities, which show happy blind people interacting with the
public. I'd like a few showing Braille use and cane travel, and I want
diversity of the people in the pictures. I don't really members sitting in
meetings, but rather members hanging out, using Braille, doing a Meet the
Blind Month things, recreating outside, partying inside, whatever they
happen to be doing at the time to show that we can live the lives we want.

I hope to select two or three photos that reflect our
Affiliate from the twenty or so you send.

I have high hopes and big plans for this brochure! We can add
a Braille Alphabet Card and distribute it to the public at events. We can
add a SASE and place it in funeral homes so people who wish to do so can
leave memorials in honor of loved ones who have passed.
We also want to have stamps made so that we can stamp each
local Chapter's contact information on the brochure for people to make
inquiries.

Please send me some pictures as soon as is practicable!

              Thanks much!

Sincerely,

Mary L. McGee
