Hi Folks,
I am a medicare recipient. AS I am low income I am also eligible for
Medicaid, which pays my Part B premium and enrolls me in their privatized
program.
This year they switched me from Amerigroup to Molina.
Molina, it appears is associated with CVS pharmacies. There is not a CVS
pharmacy anywhere in southeast Iowa.
When I went to a local pharmacy yesterday to get my annual flu shot and
covid booster I was told that neither medicare nor Molina would cover it.
My only option is to get vaccinated at my doctor's office.
That's very nice, but my doctor doesn't have, and will not be getting the
covid vaccine. Pharmacies in my area cover that, and the family practice
clinic won't be receiving any doses.
None of the pharmacies in my area are recognized by my insurer for
coverage of vaccinations.
In other words, I'm able to acquire a flu vaccine, but if i get the covid
because I'm unvaccinated it's just too bad, after all I'm 66 years old and
not one of the people the fascists want walking around anyway
My only option: Pay out of pocket to the tune of a hundred bucks or more
for a shot which should be covered. I'm not going to do that, come hell
or high water!
If I get the covid I'm going to look for a Trump rally to attend, unmasked
of course!
Just a warning for other Iowans who are Molina clients. You might be
caught in a trick bag. Be careful out there.
Regards,
Richard Webb
