Hi Intesar and Everyone:

Intesar, thank you for sharing all this great information about Brian. Thank you also for providing Brian's mom's address for us to express our sympathy. As a mother, that would have to be difficult to have your child go before you. One of Jim's former coworkers died of ALSOS in his early 70s. His mother attended his celebration of life. She was in her mid 90s and fully aware of what was going on.

Speaking of some of our elderly friends, has anyone talked to Dolores lately? I have been thinking about her and wondering how she's doing. We had a lot of fun at a Des Moines Chapter picnic years ago. We held the picnic here at Enderton Acres. Dolores brought a bottle of wine for us to share. Dolores got all giggly and we shared a lot of lughs together. I love her feisty spirit.

Every time I talk to you on the phone, Intesar, you are always so cheerful and upbeat. I love the way you care for all your chapter members. I have no doubt that you are a wonderful grandma.

Warm wishes for a happy holiday season,

April

Good afternoon NFBI family and friends,
As others have said, Brian loved to try out new technology. His Mother,
Barb, told me that he had five different phones, each with its own active
number and password, which they are not able to access, except for the one
he was using. When he was found in his recliner, he was holding it.
Brian loved the Kitchen Sink cookies from Aldies, and every month, when I
brought a snack to our meeting, he would ask me if that's what I had
brought. On the occasions that I had, he would be so happy.
Brian loved to volunteer to be on almost any sub-committee or task force,
and always offered creative ideas.
At our most recent holiday event, Brian was tranquil and serene. He had a
shy smile on the whole time, except when tearing into his hot french fries
with joy alongside his tablemate and partner in crime, Michael. They told
everyone within earshot that hot fries really must be eaten first and fast,
and must not be shared.
Lastly, Brian had made a good start on a full beard. When we told him that
he looked like Santa Claus, he laughed merrily, and said, "That's what my
Mom tells me!" He was very happy that day.
Santa Brian is no doubt looking down on us now and saying, "Ho, ho, ho.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
P S For anyone who'd like to send a sympathy card to his Mom, her address
is,
Barb Barnett, 6301 Devonshire Drive NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402
Brian Saucer's obituary is in the Friday edition of The Cedar Rapids
Gazette , which is today. Below is the link from Cedar Memorial Funeral
Home.
