Good Evening,

I’m sending this now so the information is at the top of everyone’s inbox.

First, if you have any issues voting tomorrow, please call the Iowa Secretary of State’s hotline:
888(SOS-VOTE) or 888-767-8683
They can help resolve issues in the moment, and this will make sure that they are aware that blind people in Iowa really do have issues when voting.
I will be hanging out at the Secretary of State’s office in the morning to observe what kinds of calls come to the hot line, and then Cindy and Don Shepherd are covering the rest of the day. Thank you Cindy and Don for your help with this!

For those of us who’ve already voted, if you have had any issues, please let me know ASAP so we can make sure the Secretary of State’s office is aware of them. Even if the issues can no longer be resolved for this year, we are working on long-term improvements, and the first step is that we have to get election officials to see the issues.

If you still need voting resources, there are lots out there, and I’ll focus on NFB specific here ones here.
Election Information on NFB-NEWSLINE®:
We have added the All Politics Now publication to our Breaking News Online Category on NFB-NEWSLINE. Additionally, we have implemented a candidate search option for the 2024 presidential and vice-presidential candidates. The searches are done across top newspapers, breaking news, international outlets, and magazines. To access this information via telephone, select option 1 from the main menu, then option 5 for the 2024 candidate searches. If using the NFB-NEWSLINE mobile app, go to the Information Sources tab, select "All Publications," and then "Candidate 2024 Searches." For subscribers using Web News on Demand, choose "Publications Organized Alphabetically" and select “2024 Candidate Searches.”

Survey:
Everyone who votes, please fill out the NFB survey, below.
The National Federation of the Blind advocates for the right of blind and low-vision Americans to vote privately and independently. Through this work, we conduct a Blind Voter Survey to assess: (1) the number of blind voters who cast their ballot at the polls using an accessible voting machine; (2) the most significant barriers faced by blind voters in these elections; (3) poll workers' knowledge of the process of using the accessible voting machine; and (4) blind voters' overall satisfaction with their voting experience.

All blind and low-vision voters, please share both good and bad voting experiences you've had in this 2024 general election by completing our Blind and Low-Vision Voter Experience Survey. English and Spanish versions are available below. If someone is not able to access the survey online, our phone format will be available the week of Election Day.

Please complete and share the survey.
