[Tall-Corn] State Convention Registration Reminder

Good morning NFBI,

I know we’ve got a lot going on, so this is a friendly reminder to please register for state convention and book your hotel room. The preregistration deadline is September 30; however, if you register by September 15 you are entered in an extra $50 drawing. Based on questions and feedback I’ve received from people who registered already, here are a couple tips.

If you want to pay by credit card, choose the PayPal option and it will allow you to enter one. PayPal is the service we use to process the credit card, but you don’t have to have an account.
If you fill out the form, click review, and nothing happens, this appears to be an issue with the web browser. The two fixes that appear to work are using a different browser or clearing your browser’s cash; I’m not sure exactly why this is causing issues.

	The National Federation of the Blind of Iowa invites you to our 99th state convention. This important event brings together blind, low vision and deafblind individuals, our families, allies, and professionals from across the state for a weekend full of education, advocacy, networking, and community-building. Together, we will explore new ideas, share experiences, and celebrate the achievements of the blind community. Our goal is to raise expectations so that blind Iowans can live the lives we want—full of opportunity, independence, and empowerment. 
The agenda will include a variety of breakout sessions during the day Friday. The first General Session will take place Friday evening, followed by hospitality. Saturday will consist of a morning General Session, keynote presentation over lunch, afternoon General Session, and Saturday banquet, the highlight of the convention. Sunday morning will consist of our affiliate board meeting and business meeting.	
	To reserve your sleeping room for the convention, please call the hotel at (515)278-4755 and use group code NFB, or visit this link. The room rate is $109 per night plus tax, and the deadline to make your reservation is September 25.
	To register and secure your meals, please fill out the registration form online at nfbi.org/convention/2025-registration, or complete the attached Word version of the form and mail it in per the directions on the form. If you want NFBI to receive as much of your money as possible, you can save us the processing fees by filling out the registration form online and then sending us a check. Feel free to do whatever makes it easiest for you though. Note that our meal arrangements are somewhat different this year, with a plated dinner during General Session Friday evening, and no breakfast Saturday. We will again have a plated lunch with a speaker Saturday and of course our banquet Saturday evening. The deadline to register is September 30; however, if you register by September 15, you will be entered into an extra drawing for a $50 prize at the banquet.
	The National Federation of the Blind of Iowa is subsidizing some of this year’s meal costs to hopefully make it easier for more individuals to be able to participate. NFBI will also be providing coffee both Saturday and Sunday mornings, and a variety of hot and cold appetizers during hospitality Friday evening. For those who are able, we request donations to help us cover these costs.
