Good evening NFBI,

The Iowa Commission for the Blind has moved its meeting to September 12 at 1:00 PM. We do not have a Zoom link or agenda yet. It has to be sent out with 24 hours notice, and I will forward it when I have it. I encourage everyone who is able to attend the meeting, and also to request to speak during public comment. Requests to speak must be made 24 hours in advance of the meeting to Janice.eggers at blind.state.ia.us. My understanding is that the meeting will only be virtual, though I am checking on this.
The Commission Board sets the official policies for IDB, not the director. It is also not to late to submit letters to the commissioners. We have confirmed that Amy Salgar resigned her position, so letters need only be sent to commissioners Sara Coleman and Mike Hoenig.
Note, our protest will still be taking place on September 16, since many of you have already made plans to be here in person that day. If you are planning to attend, but have not filled out the RSVP form, please do so so we can make sure you receive the key details.

Thank you all for your engagement with this important issue,
Helen
