Good afternoon all,
When Jonathan shared his Senator’s weekly newsletter with me, which contains the below segment, it led me to think of a benefit to our public advocacy that many of us may not think about. When we meet with our elected officials, it helps them learn about blind people, which is a crucial main goal, but it also helps spread awareness of who we are and our issues to the broader community that reads their newsletters, sees pictures on their social media feeds, etc. We got posts from our trip to DC and our day at the capitol, which are all small ways to increase awareness of our organization and the issues we care about.
I’m including two pictures, because I didn’t take the time to figure out which one was the correct one.
Nice work Jonathan.
Friend Jonathan Ice spoke with me about the National Federation of the Blind, Iowa, legislative priorities which includes accessible prescription medication labeling, accessible absentee voting, and maintaining a strong, independent Dept. for the Blind.
Jonathan is a tireless advocate for ensuring Iowa is accessible for people of all abilities.
