NFBI Family,
I received the below via ICUB and am forwarding since most of us knew him. From what i have heard, the treatment that allowed Mike to survive cancer for so long finally destroyed his lungs. He entered hospice Monday and passed away Wednesday.

Dear Members and Friends,
We are saddened to share that longtime ICUB member Mike Hoenig passed away yesterday afternoon. We do not yet have information regarding arrangements, but we will share those details when they become available.
Mike was a dedicated advocate, mentor, and friend who encouraged others to do better, think bigger, and continue working toward meaningful change. His leadership, generosity, and commitment made a lasting difference throughout Iowa and in the lives of people who are blind and others with disabilities.
Mike’s contributions were far-reaching, and the impact of his advocacy will continue to be felt for many years. He leaves behind an incredible legacy and will be deeply missed.
