Hi All,
My experience with Mike was always positive, both before and after I became NFBI president. While we did not always agree on everything related to IDB, we were able to disagree respectfully. He seemed to take the time to think about what he was doing, and was never hesitant to ask questions. I watched him help advocate for accessibility and greater inclusion of the perspectives of people with disabilities in quite a few meetings we happened to be in together with the Iowa Developmental Disabilities Council.
I also want to publicly give Mike credit for asking questions at the last commission meeting about how the new center shade policy didn’t actually seem to be helping to get more students into wearing shades in the center over time.

Greetings colleagues,
Last I remember Mike was pretty hostile to NFB. I hope as he served on the board his positions moderated a bit.
Last I knew of him really was when he was a child, his family was studying the option of joining the same car pool we participated in going to and from the school in Vinton, but the next year I transferred to my local school, so I don't know if he did or not.
As for appointing a replacement, I'm hoping Kim does wait, maybe we'll get somebody who isn't so hostile to our movement.
