[Tall-Corn] At Large Chapter Meeting

Good evening. Friends!

Tomorrow, June 18, will be the regular meeting of the At Large Chapter. We
will meet for social time at 6:30. I hope you will all come to our "happy
hour", because it is a fun discussion. I am sure more could make it merrier.

Tomorrow we will have the regular information: Secretary's Report and
Treasurer's Report. 

We will hear Presidential Release 561 in which we will learn why it is
important to attend the convention. President Helen will give us updates on
the State of the State, including progress being made on the state
convention. Remember, this is the 100th state convention. Note that our
conventions started before the Federation was formed. We were the Iowa
Association for the Blind then, but there were plenty of progressives in the
group, and they all joined up with the "Battle Cry" of the Federation when
it was formed.If there is time we will read the article "Death of Blind
Refugee in Buffalo Ruled Homicide",which talks about death to a blind man
who had been erroneously detained by ICE Agents. The Federation has for
years worked on situations of this or similar nature, and it is good to see
that we have this interest in vulnerable populations and are anxious to do
what we can do. 

I hope we will see you all at the At Large Meeting tomorrow night. It should
be fun and informative.
