Our Give-It-Up/Do-It Challenge has been extended till the Christmas party so that we can gather as much money for the BELL Academy as possible to turn over to the Affiliate. Anyone can join now—it’s never too late! It works like this: You give up something on which you usually spend money and the money you save thereby you donated to the Des Moines Chapter. Or, you can pay to do something you don’t want to do but is good for you, e.g. walk a set distance. Then the money you’ve pledged and saved you donate to us for BELL. I’ll be collecting the proceeds at the Christmas party, but all are welcome and, if you’ll have money, let me know and we’ll work out some way you can get it to me. My personal email address is mmcatitude@gmail.com. When I have a time, I’ll let you know; but I know the menu will include fried chicken and cherry cheesecake, among other things, and that’s good enough for me. Keep watch for the time!

Also, any of you in At-Large who wish to participate in our Theresa’s Gaming Salon Fundraiser are welcome to come too! It’s doubling as a Meet The Blind Month Active because we’ll distribute literature and play games like bingo, skip bo, hearts, racko, uno, and scrabble. We’ll have hot cider courtesy of Cindy, and munchies. $20.00 per person for unlimited play. And prize drawing!

The gaming will commence at 1:00 p.m. at Windsor Presbyterian Church Ward Hall, 6301 University Ave., Windsor Heights, and end at 5:00 p.m. Come and play!

Sincerely,

Mary L.
