We have had two major snow storms, a major snow squall, lots of wind and did I mention cold? This all has taken increased effort to get things done but we have prevailed.

First of all, our Legislative Day coming up this Tuesday is still on and is looking very promising. We have no cancellations so far that we know of so we will proceed as planned. If because of the extreme weather or other things that you can’t control requires you to change your mind about coming please let us know as soon as possible. Next, we may have some press coverage because of the political events of this week and who knows what may come of that. Third, we have added a third person to our committee and we welcome Helen Stevens to help lead our legislative efforts. Some of the staff from the Secretary Of State’s Office is planning to come talk with us at our gathering Tuesday morning which is an opportunity we are looking forward to.

Finally, as you already know our accessible prescription labels bill has been introduced in the Iowa senate by Brad Zaun and has been assigned to a subcommittee. We are still working on the mobile voting bill that we plan to get introduced. We are looking forward to getting together with the Iowa D.D. Council Tuesday morning with approximately 11 Federationists and going over to the to the Statehouse that afternoon. If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.

NFBI Legislative Committee

Bob Ray

Mary McGee

Helen Stevens
