<p style="margin: 0;"><span style="font-size: 16px; color: rgb(29, 29, 29); font-weight: normal;">Section 504 is an important law that </span><span style="font-size: 16px; color: rgb(29, 29, 29); font-weight: bold;">protects people with disabilities.</span><span style="font-size: 16px; color: rgb(29, 29, 29);"> It says you can’t discriminate against disabled people if you get money from the United States government. That means schools must include students with disabilities and help them learn. </span></p>

<p style="margin: 0;"><span style="font-size: 16px; color: rgb(29, 29, 29);">You have probably heard about "504 plans," which </span><span style="font-size: 16px; color: rgb(0, 29, 53);">are plans created by a school with a student's family to provide accommodations and support for a student with a disability. If the court agrees with these 17 states, students with disabilities would no longer be guaranteed these accommodations and people with disabilities would not be protected from discrimination like they are now.</span></p>
