[Trainer-talk] Typing Test

There're 2 methods I've used or seen used; both of the typing software
programs out there have sentence practice, which at the end will report a
speed. However, talking typing teacher's reports on typing speed are, in my
opinion, rather inaccurate. This is one area where APH's program is
definitely superior in my opinion.
The other method used is to give dictation, for a certain amount of time
and then count the words. The problem with this method is that if the
student is anything close to a perfectionist with their typing (like I am)
they'll struggle with correcting any mistakes they make, throwing off the
score, sometimes pretty badly.
Hope that helps.
