In Windows 7, you have several programs on the task bar by default,
such as Internet Explorer. You can go to the task bar with Windows
with T to view the programs already there. By default I believe the
programs are Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer (or My Computer), and
Windows Media Player. You can change these programs as well as add new
ones. I bring this up because often you can use the keystroke of
Windows with alpha numeric 1 to launch Internet Explorer, and the
other numbers with the windows key to launch other programs, depending
on where the program is on the order sequence. For instance, for some
reason I wasn't able to set my JAWS hotkey for JAWS 13 as Control Alt
J. So I aded JAWS to the task bar. Now, if I need to load JAWS, I use
Windows with alpha numeric 6.
To add a program to the task bar, find the program in the start menu,
all programs area, or on the desktop, and hit the Applications key. If
you scroll down you will find an entry to Add this program to the Task
Bar, or if you want to remove something that is already added, the
entry will say remove from task bar.
Windows 7 is very different from Windows XP, but over time, you will
grow to enjoy it. For more on Windows 7, you may wish to check out
