If you have clients who are both computer users and bible scholars, here are
some great resources:

1. Bible Gateway website. www.biblegateway.com. You can search for a
particular scripture reference or search for words in a scripture. Change
the bible version to compare different versions, or even read in different
languages. Settings can be saved to always search a particular version of
the bible, and also to use another language. I think the mobile version is
easier to use: http://mobile.biblegateway.com/

2. Optasia Ministry. www.optasiaministry.org. This is a ministry that
will send people a DVD that has hundreds of Christian books and bible
studies on it. Since they are in text format, the person has to have a
screen reader to listen to them.

3. Christian Classics Ethereal Library. www.ccel.org. Find the texts of
classic Christian literature online. You can do a search, or if you go to
browse, you will get an alphabetical listing by title, author, format,
language, library of congress subject, or subject tag.

The books at CCEL are available in several different formats (it varies
according to the book): online, mp3, pdf, plain text, apple ibook, etc. As
of 8-12-12, the site only has 75 books that have mp3 files. The pdf versions
are not accessible. You can read all of them online, but they only show one
section or page at a time, and you have to choose "next" to go to the next
section (this would be a pain to listen to, and would not be good for
putting on a portable player). The best solution seems to be the text files.
The text file could be saved to your computer or to a portable player
(Zoomtext 10 users could make it into an audio file using the Zoomtext
Recorder).

For JAWS users, the ways you can "browse" are hidden underneath a link
called Browse like an onMouseover, but I don't hear it say onMouseover. If
you just open the Browse link itself, it goes to browse by author and you
don't get the other options for browsing. If you use L for list, and hear
"list of six items" (it is at the top), then arrow down to Browse (the
second item in the list), then you can press Tab and get to author, title,
subject, etc. Another option is to do Control + F to find "Community," and
then press Shift + Tab to go backwards to Browse. That makes the list drop
down under Browse, and then you can arrow down through the different browse
options.

Also, the different formats available for each book are listed in a TABLE at
the bottom of each page, so you can press T to get down there. Or just go
to the link called "Plain text."

Note: don't use the mobile version of the CCEL site. For some reason it
only has the "read online" option, and you have to go back to the table of
contents each time you want to read another section of the book.
