FileDir, Jamal Mazrui's powerful file manager, offers a wealth of
keystrokes, a lot to learn, and among them are keystrokes for generating
file listings. The program is free and worth the effort if you want a
really powerful and effective windows file manager.

"Dir" is what you want in a default Windows installation that lacks
something like Cygwin or the GNU CoreUtilities. Specifically:
dir /b >files.txt
You can add `/on' for a list sorted alphabetically by name.

.txt extention. the ls is the list files in directory command and the > sign
tells it to print it to the text file. this is what you want I believe. I
just tested it myself. good luck, hope this helps. if you need anything
else, you know my office number right? (623) 565-9357. Free help for you any
time, you know me like that Sheri.
