[Trainer-talk] Outlook 2007 searches

Okay, here's another question. In your message list, are your older messages
all showing? A lot of the time, Outlook puts older messages into a collapsed
state, so you may see the heading of last month, or older, or something like
that. If these groups are collapsed, Outlook doesn't search them if I
remember correctly. So, make sure everything is completely expanded and then
try the search again.

Tried your suggestion.
I was only given two options regarding where to search, either the current
folder or all items.
I unchecked the current folder.
Now, here's a question that just came up. Is there some kind of setting
that could be somehow set right now that is only searching recent messages?
The messages it's finding only seem to be from this month, and I wonder if I
somehow accidentally did something.
Some of the messages I want are from a few months ago. They're here, if I
check them manually, but all I'm finding doing these instant searches are
fairly recent messages. I've looked through the view menu, options, tools,
etc, and can't seem to put my finger on it.
Jim
PS. In the past, I've been able to use Instant search to look for people or
messages that ranged from one week to many months ago, so this is recent.

Is it possible you have multiple data files? It wouldn't hurt to try the
following:
1. Open the Tools Menu
2. Activate instant search
3. Open the search options
4. Uncheck the data file you want searched.
5. Save the changes and try another search.
