[Trainer-talk] What are you charging for AT training for individuals verses organizations

Thanks to everybody for sharing your rates and training methods. It has really helped me to brainstorm and try to decide on my training verses tech support fees and techniques. I like the idea of using a sliding scale, Jeanine; especially since many of the potential client's who have been recruiting my services are low income. I'm okay with charging them less, knowing I'd be helping them to improve their tech skills; and therefore hopefully increase their opportunities for employment with higher salaries.

I personally charge between$55.00 and $150.00 an hour. However, that is for different services. I do tech support, presentations/demos, accessibility and usability testing as well as training. For training my rates go between $55.00 an hour to $75.00 an hour. I have a sliding fee scale.

Just remember that all state agencies pay different rates. But more importantly as it is your business and I think that means you/I have to set my own rates. Of course you can't be ridiculously off the mark from what the market will bare or you won't get any business.
Just my thoughts. Smile

At Blind Access Training, private pay is $30.00 an hour.
I have yet to even be considered for state agencies so the rate there doesn't matter right now. I was told though that they pay venders anywhere from $40-to-60 an hour.
I guess I will confirm that once I can get Blind Access Training hooked up with contract work here in Washington State or anywhere else for that matter.
Best wishes...

Hey guys! Just wondering what the going rate is for one on one AT training with individuals; when the individual is paying verses an agency or organization? Do you charge a different amount for remote and face to face training? I've taught AT for many years for my state agency but I'm looking at going out on my own; and want to make sure I'm not under or over charging my client's.

Feel free to reply on or off list.

Thanks,

Tonia
