Hi Everyone:

I think that when it comes to OCR software, rehab counselors should
seriously explore off-the-shelf packages. If it can be demonstrated that
off-the-shelf OCR software will meet a client's needs, then the client
should be encouraged to learn to use such software.

I can't speak for all off-the-shelf OCR software, but Abbyy FineReader has
truly lived up to its name. After all, both OpenBook and Kurzweil also
deploy FineReader engines in their software offerings. So, why not try out
Abbyy FineReader itself?

Sincerely,
Olusegun
