I recommend installing a second hard drive and doing dual boot. That's what I do. Then you can boot to the operating system of your choice.

We're wanting to upgrade to Windows 8, while also continuing to train on Windows 7 as needed; but do not have the money nor space for an additional PC. We're exploring our options and considering either partitioning the hard drive in order to run both OS's; or, running the second OS inside a virtual machine on the same PC. We're just not sure which would be the simplest and most accessible; keeping in mind that we may need to switch back and forth between OS's for each class. Any tips or guidance would be very much appreciated.
