[Trainer-talk] live recording onto a CD

We do not use the PlexTalk. It has only been Victor that we have worked
with.
So I can record directly to the SD card on my Victor but the only way I can
listen to it on the computer or to give that SD card to another person is to
use the Human Ware Companion.

So I looked up the PlexTalk 2 and the PlexTalk PTR2 and it did say it was
able to record direct but it mentions that it is in Daisy format and need
additional software.
.Record in DAISY, and edit on your PC with included PRS DAISY editing
software

This is a client that needs to hand her clients the recorded session as soon
as the appointment is over. not give them a cassette where they have no
means to listen to it or to give her a process to get the information in a
general public format.
What have people been doing if they don't want to use a cassette? The
digital recorder works if the person dictating can take it off the recorder
and the person who will be typing has the means to get it. and if not?
Seems like a big step was missed.
Our client does not need text to speech or adaptive software and neither
does her clients. I just thought the blind/low vision use recordings so
much for so many reasons that I would find a solution here.
Thanks.

No it is very different. The new Victor Stream allows you to record the
file as an MP3 but only to an SD card and you would need a computer to copy
it to a CD. The Plextalk PTR2 will record direct to a cd.

Is this the same as the Victor and you need the software to then convert it
for another person to listen to it not using the same device?
Thanks, I have found nothing so far on the internet.

Hello,

We have a client who needs to record her sessions on to a CD per
appointment. we are trying to avoid the laptop and burning it to the CD.
More steps than she has time for. I thought there were some video DVD's
that recorded live to the DVD right away.

Is there an option like that for an instant live CD recording? It doesn't
even have to be adaptive; just instant.

Thanks,

Bridget
