[Trainer-talk] Outlook.com website and screen reading

I haven't had any screen reader users who have their heart set on using the
website, most opt to use a client because of the difficulties they encounter
right away.
I know that Outlook Lite, the online version to access exchange e-mail has
an option in the settings to turn on accessible mode. I found that while
working with a college student at a university which uses Microsoft
Exchanged, and the students use the Outlook Web App .but I couldn't find
that on the outlook.com site.
The only other option I found that might make a difference, but I haven't
pursued because people opt for the e-mail client, is the option to turn the
reading pane on/off, or to place it on the bottom or the right.
Not much help I know *smile* but I hope it gives you a new avenue to
investigate.

I tried it with JAWS a few months ago and could not get JAWS to get to the
messages to open them. It is a great website for Zoomtext users, but not
for JAWS users. Unless someone knows some special tricks. I did a web
search and found nothing about using JAWS with Outlook.com.

Hi there,
Has anyone worked with the Outlook.com website for doing email?
If so, have you encountered problems with it regarding accessibility?
I have a new student who has an outlook.com account. We've been trying to
use the website. When we hit the enter key on the link, we get nowhere.
The links also seem to double as check boxes, and we check one and still
nothing happens.
We can see the messages but can't open them to read them.
Are there any particular settings one needs to have?
I've never worked with this site and have not had much time to do so this
week, so any help would be appreciated.
Jim
