Job Description:



This position will assist MN.IT Service's Chief Information Accessibility Officer in designing, documenting, and implementing processes and best practices regarding IT accessibility with particular focus on testing, evaluation, and quality assurance. The Information Accessibility Specialist also assists as a training and outreach resource representing the department for MN.IT Services and other state agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:



Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in software quality assurance and/or design and development activities that includes:

-Experience creating accessible content in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro

-Experience with accessibility testing tools such as WAVE and color contrast
analysis and commercial tools such as Compliance Sheriff, Site Improve or WorldSpace

-Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

**Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification**

**It is the policy of the MN.IT Services that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment. The background check may consist of the following components:

Preferred Qualifications:



-Bachelor's degree

-Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 Accessibility standards and their implications for application and content usability and operation

-Knowledge of web and internet technology, including experience writing website code (ex: javascript, html) and working with content management systems

-Experience writing for a wide range of electronic media including but not limited to: websites, social media channels, video scripts, instructional materials, press releases, and marketing/ad copy
