[Trainer-talk] question about PDF documents that will not display

Of course, JAWS can be on when text is copied. but the suggestion to try to
copy and paste into a Word document, when the document in question is a
graphic PDF, has no effect whether or not JAWS is operational. The PDF in
this case is a picture; no amount of copying to clipboard, or saving to any
format, will turn the picture into text. When the pdf is a picture of the
text, you need to perform OCR on it in any of the ways indicated in previous
messages.

Actually, I do not have to turn off JAWS to copy a document. It may be
related to how my system is set up? However, when this occurs, I open a new
Word document, do a "select all", then "copy", and paste it into the new
document.

If Jaws says it is empty...you can do many things One, alt f to file and go
down to save as other and choose text and it saves as an rtf you can also
turn off jaws, do a ctrl a, ctrl c and paste into word, turn jaws back on
next for really nasty images that refuse to do all...yes you can save and
put thru openbook or kurzweil but if you have jaws 16..the new ocr---insert
space, o, d is fantastic...here is a video on it--will open in virtual
viewer, copy and paste into word and start editing away-- watch on youtube:
