HI Sally.
How about trying dot 4 followed by dot 1? If not, the consumer can always press shift 2 in this context. I know having to lift your hands off the keyboard is an annoyance, but sometimes it's still more simple to go that route.

Thanks for the ideas. She did use dots 4,7 for the @ sign. We will try space u, though. When I look at the email address she typed using the Focus 40, it appears to be correct. All of the elements are there - the "at" sign , period, etc.
but for some reason the characters are not recognized by the website. When I deleted her email address as she typed it, and retyped it using the laptop keyboard, the address was accepted .
