[Trainer-Talk] Next Phone Meeting/March 18

I sent this to the blind-philly-comp discussion list and thought this 
might be of some interest, both to trainers as well as users of 
assistive technology. If the following submission is not appropriate for 
this particular list, I would appreciate being informed and I will 
refrain from posting announcements of this type to this list in the future.

Normally, our monthly phone meetings are scheduled for the last Friday 
of the month. However, since March 25 is Good Friday I am unwilling to 
moderate and even participate during a phone meeting during the Triduum. 
Because of this we are moving it back to this coming Friday, March 18 at 
8:00 PM Eastern time.
As we have some new readers who have joined this list, I will offer a 
few bits of information which are already known to most of you. The 
purpose of the monthly phone meetings, as well as this list, is to allow 
individuals to ask questions, provide answers as well as feedback and 
opinions regarding anything that has to do with blindness-specific 
technology or mainstream tech which is relevant or used in conjunction 
with blindness tech. Therefore, most things in this realm are up for 
grabs, so to speak, such as using Windows, OS X, iOS or Android along 
with relevant screen readers and enlargers, video magnifiers, digital 
book players, etc. I even allow general computer topics, such as how do 
I do such and such in Word, how do I cut and paste files on the Mac, 
etc. I don't promise to answer every question personally; I try to 
tackle much of the email but I don't always have the experience or even 
the time to answer all of them. However, it's designed for users to help 
and support other users. I initially set up the group for consumers in 
or near the Philly area, since Philadelphia hasn't had such a group 
since the 1990s and I thought that it was past time to bring it back. 
However, we do have a few participants outside of the city and even some 
outside the state. Therefore, while the list was established to provide 
support for people in the Philly area, Anyone is welcome to join us, 
both on this list as well as during the monthly phone conferences. 
People who post on or who join the list are in no way obligated to call 
in during the phone conferences and callers don't have to join the list. 
For that matter, even people who join the list or who call into the 
conferences can just lurk without participating if you're feeling shy, 
unsure or are just feeling like you have nothing to add. However, 
whether you're a novice or a seasoned expert there is probably much you 
can add, even if it's just a ton of questions.
Questions are fine. I'm constantly learning new things and, as I often 
remind people, I didn't come out of the womb knowing what I know.
Sometimes, I've had specific themes or topics for our phone meetings. 
However, during the past few months I haven't done this and so this 
upcoming meeting on March 18 is just an open Q&A, where people can throw 
out questions, answers or other comments that are on their minds. I 
usually begin with a summary of the technology news since our last 
meeting of major events and software releases which have been announced, 
and then the floor is open for comments.
