I've pasted part of the AFB announcement below in case you haven't seen it yet. I am sorry that our server's phishing filters garble the URLS below.

I'd like to comment that so far I'm finding this training superb.

All of us, especially those of us who have used screen readers for a long time need to do this tutorial, because the google way of accomplishing tasks with a screen reader is a new, but mostly accessible paradigm.

I'm copying the MP3 files now to my VR Stream and will do one module per day. I like to use the stream so I don't have to try to pause or rewind the video on my PC where I'm practicing the new skill of using the google apps.

Even if we prefer ourselves to use desktop apps that don't require one be online, the tech world is shifting to cloud-based and web-based applications. At the college where I work, most students are on gmail and many instructors have them turn in homework on google docs.

Luckily I haven't had to help with google docs yet much, but it's only a matter of time!
*** tesxt of announcement:

The American Foundation for the Blind is pleased to announce Learn Tech, a technology access initiative that features free online tutorials to help people who are blind or visually impaired learn how to improve their computer and technology skills. The tutorials can be accessed at <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__afb.us11.list-2Dmanage1.com_track_click-3Fu-3Dbd3c8fefc9f905f5ccf41c577-26id-3Dce20302964-26e-3D502a51ad37&d=CwICAg&c=xoYdONxMEGxjdvKj5bOdEOV28uakaJ20R4TjadGGZBc&r=gcvya4Pqy0A2EsMRyTgo_3n3PIn53GqWAnSNzbIFuBs&m=YNe-6WoXJve3MwwRS9hftw4aA7wg0WWpUxtlvq1GVvo&s=XmcDGwNvhUnAS6_bHZ_I82UTAJWBU7XNnTanhJQWWUI&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__afb.us11.list-2Dmanage1.com_track_click-3Fu-3Dbd3c8fefc9f905f5ccf41c577-26id-3Dce20302964-26e-3D502a51ad37&d=CwICAg&c=xoYdONxMEGxjdvKj5bOdEOV28uakaJ20R4TjadGGZBc&r=gcvya4Pqy0A2EsMRyTgo_3n3PIn53GqWAnSNzbIFuBs&m=YNe-6WoXJve3MwwRS9hftw4aA7wg0WWpUxtlvq1GVvo&s=XmcDGwNvhUnAS6_bHZ_I82UTAJWBU7XNnTanhJQWWUI&e=%20> > www.afb.org/learntech<http://www.afb.org/learntech>.

The newest tutorial offering for Learn Tech is a 10-part series on Using Google Docs and Google Drive with NVDA. Google Docs is a free, web-based application in which documents can be created, edited, and stored online.

Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service that allows users to store files in the cloud, and share files with people who are working on the same project. NVDA (Non-Visual Desktop Access) is a free screen reader for people who are blind or visually impaired.

When these tools are used together, computer users who are blind or visually impaired are able to use the computer for work or school without any additional, expensive software. These tools also allow for easy project collaboration with others at school or in the workplace, leveling the playing field.

Also available from Learn Tech are the previously released Learn NVDA free video tutorials that describe how to use the NVDA free and fully featured screen reader.

Additional tutorials will be added to Learn Tech over time. To learn more, or to share information with people who may be interested in using the tutorials, go to <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__afb.us11.list-2Dmanage2.com_track_click-3Fu-3Dbd3c8fefc9f905f5ccf41c577-26id-3Df51112c2d1-26e-3D502a51ad37&d=CwICAg&c=xoYdONxMEGxjdvKj5bOdEOV28uakaJ20R4TjadGGZBc&r=gcvya4Pqy0A2EsMRyTgo_3n3PIn53GqWAnSNzbIFuBs&m=YNe-6WoXJve3MwwRS9hftw4aA7wg0WWpUxtlvq1GVvo&s=LwTH2vkxwX1B-3PDM6Opr5TfL_goP2Fu7rmI0L6P5Sk&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__afb.us11.list-2Dmanage2.com_track_click-3Fu-3Dbd3c8fefc9f905f5ccf41c577-26id-3Df51112c2d1-26e-3D502a51ad37&d=CwICAg&c=xoYdONxMEGxjdvKj5bOdEOV28uakaJ20R4TjadGGZBc&r=gcvya4Pqy0A2EsMRyTgo_3n3PIn53GqWAnSNzbIFuBs&m=YNe-6WoXJve3MwwRS9hftw4aA7wg0WWpUxtlvq1GVvo&s=LwTH2vkxwX1B-3PDM6Opr5TfL_goP2Fu7rmI0L6P5Sk&e=%20>
